The wasteWOIMA® power plant has been designed to utilize primarily non-toxic municipal solid waste (MSW) streams. However, other waste streams that societies generate can also be used, such as refined waste fuels (REF, RDF, SRF), industrial, commercial and institutional waste (ICI), construction and demolition waste (CDW), agricultural waste (AW) and different biomasses. Even small quantities of toxic wastes, such as hospital and industrial waste can be mixed in the waste stream.
The plant employs a reciprocating grate that accepts a wide variety of fuels with a calorific value between 7 and 18 MJ/kg and moisture content up to 55%.
It adapts automatically to variations in waste fuel quantity and quality to deliver clean and renewable base-load energy. The plant is also flexible towards the start-up and support fuel feed. Any available liquid or gaseous fuel, such as HFO, LFO, LNG or CNG will do. Naturally, biogas is the environmentally friendliest option.
