Any power plant’s efficiency is affected by how much thermal energy is lost through radiation, convection and conduction. The closed cooling circuits of the wasteWOIMA® plant retain all the thermal energy transferred to it via waste incineration or cooling processes. Simultaneously, the closed circuit requires only minimal top up water and produces no wastewater
There is significant amounts of thermal energy available in
- Continuous blow-down water
- Fuel chute cooling water
- Turbine and generator cooling water
- (grate cooling water in case of using the partially water-cooled grate)
The plant can also be equipped with a dual-purpose scrubber system enabling
- Lower air emission through “scrubbing out” NOx, Hg and sulphides
- Higher plant efficiency through lower thermal loss (lower flue gas temperature) through the stack
Combined, these WOIMAbenefits can generate up to 1,000,000€ of additional revenue during the WtE plant lifespan.
