The “soul” of the WtE power plant is the gas-tight boiler where hot flue gases transfer their energy into the steam-water cycle. Traditional stick-built power plants require a large amount of welding on-site, up to 30,000 welding joints, often in challenging conditions, to create the gas-tight boiler structure. While, the wasteWOIMA® plant requires less than 1,000 welding joints. The rest are done in a controlled workshop environment prior to delivering the modules onto the site.
- The plant is delivered in larger modules prepared in optimal workshop conditions
- Many of the joints are done with bolting
- Practically all the welds are straight-forward and fast straight lines in spacious areas
The modular plant structure generates welding savings through
- Faster work phase
- Less welding joints
- Less welding equipment and materials
Combined, these WOIMAbenefits can save over 100,000€ in on-site welding work, equipment and materials, and speed up the phase by several weeks.
