The small-to-medium-scale wasteWOIMA® WtE plant can be easily located adjacent to an energy off-taker enabling the sale of thermal energy instead of or in addition to electricity .
A one-boiler-island wasteWOIMA20 plant generates annually roughly
- 3 MWe (net), i.e. ~35,000 MWh or
- 2 MWe (net), i.e. ~18,000 MWh + 13.5 MWth, i.e. ~110,000 MWh or
- 24 tph of superheated steam, i.e. ~142,000 MWh
These can be scaled up with the delivery of additional WOIMAline boiler islands or the WOIMAlines can be configured to deliver different energy commodities.
Although thermal energy has a lower sales price, it will generate more revenue since the plant’s conversion rate to thermal energy is much higher than to electricity; 88% and 25% respectively.
The ability to sell thermal energy to nearby off-takers will significantly enhance the profitability of the WtE plant operations. Depending on the energy mix, the payback time of the plant investment can be reduced by several years.
Combined, these WOIMAbenefits can generate over 13,000,000€ of additional revenue during the WtE plant lifespan.
